I am a Bangalore based Software Engineer.
Currently, I am working with the EDA giant Synopsys (India) Pvt Ltd. Prior to that I used to work with General Electric
and even before that, with Infosys, Mangalore.
My areas of technical interest includes hardcore C/C++ hacking, automation using Perl/expect/csh/bash/sh/ksh etc, everything
that UNIX has to offer to the user mode world and Linux kernel innards. I am kind of a newbie in the Linux Kernel
2.6 world but am trying hard to make my space there.
More about me, I am an Indian/Hindu/Bengali by birth. I was born and brought-up in Agartala (a North Eastern
State of India) and finished off my graduation (B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication) from NERIST (North
Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology), Arunachal Pradesh in 2001.
Listening songs (usually hindi melodious songs/gazals and rarely English/Bengali), watching movies, etc are
some of the things that interests me apart from going out in the city for a BASH, occasionally. I find great
pleasure in playing drums also but thatz something which I don't get to do pretty often because I don't own a Drum Kit and
not every Companies that I have worked with so far, had a good HR support for Music enthusiasts especially, in Synopsys, its
NULL but in Infosys, I must say that it was excellent. We formed a band called YANTRA in Infy and I guess the band is
still carrying over! In sports, I think I love volleyball the most and a little bit of badminton also.
In Bangalore, we live in a small joint family which includes my sweet little Dad, my Aunty (my father's elder brother's
wife), my elder brother and his wife. You can find some pictures of my family members in http://arijit79.tripod.com/id4.html
My Favourite Website: Did you ever come across any problem for which you felt like running short of solutions? If
yes, please try out: www.google.com Its the greatest tool I have ever come across. I think, it has revolutionized the entire information technology
world. Over the past one decade, I think, its inception was the best thing that has ever happenned for the IT industry.
Synopsys Job Posting: My Company/Group needs a hardcore UNIX/Shell/Perl Programmer for a Bangalore/Hyderabad based
vacancies. This vacancy has been lying around for the last 6 months but didn't get a suitable candidate.

Shown below is my pic taken two years back while attending a seminar in Infosys, Mangalore. Those were the
days when I was forced to wear ties (Infy Dress Code) even though I hate doing so...
